Synopsis

In the small, picturesque nation of Apfelland, located between Russia, Austria, and Germany, a boy named Vel lives in the capital city of Charlottenburg. He accidentally helps Frid, a girl who has been kidnapped after radium is found in her grandfather's long-abandoned mine. Various individuals arrive on the scene with their own agendas: an American seeking profit, a Polish woman disguised as a man to fund a revolution, and members of Apfelland's government hoping to secure an alliance with Germany. As Vel and Frid become entangled in these intricate schemes, they uncover the secrets behind the radium mine.
