Synopsis

In the crowded streets of Shibuya, Neku Sakuraba wakes up holding two black pins that let him hear others' thoughts and see "Noise," dangerous creatures that can "erase" people from existence. Trapped within the city limits, Neku gets a mission alert, warning that failing will result in his own erasure. While fighting Noise, Neku meets Shiki Misaki, who suggests they team up to battle these monsters together. Shiki explains they are now "Players" in the "Reaper's Game," a seven-day contest with a new task each day. Neku and Shiki work through the trials, meeting other Players and Reapers, fighting stronger Noise, and uncovering the mystery behind the game's purpose.
