Synopsis
The Ootsuji Detective Agency is struggling with a lack of clients. Detective Soutarou and his junior partner, Saki, accept whatever cases come their way, including one that seems far more dangerous than it is lucrative. During the city's festival celebrations, strange disappearances are happening unnoticed by the public. A journalist hires Soutarou to look into these events, hinting that the key lies in the Dark—a turbulent, lawless underground realm marked by moral, social, and physical decay. Soutarou first assigns the job to Saki but soon regrets it when Saki vanishes as well. Left with no choice, Soutarou descends into the Dark, where he must face its dangerous inhabitants, including the brutal Laughing Masks gang and a rogue police unit that operates the fearsome armored train known as Demon 463.
