Synopsis

In a world where massive tectonic shifts have submerged much of Japan, the country has become a thriving maritime civilization. Coastal cities flourish, and safe sea routes are protected by specialized naval vessels. The marine industry is booming, with many young women aspiring to become Blue Mermaids—highly skilled sailors tasked with safeguarding the seas. After a period apart, former friends Akeno Misaki and Moeka China reunite and enroll at Yokosuka Girls' Marine High School. There, they connect with other students who share their dream of becoming Blue Mermaids. As training begins, Akeno and Moeka are given command of their own ships and crews. Akeno quickly adapts to her role as captain of the destroyer Harekaze, forging strong bonds within her team. However, mechanical problems with the ship’s engines and navigation system leave them stranded, placing the crew in critical danger. High School Fleet follows the adventures of the Harekaze crew as they face challenges and hazards on their journey to achieving their goal of becoming esteemed Blue Mermaids.
