Synopsis

During a summer trip to the countryside, sixth-grader Nozomi Nanase stays with her grandfather, who runs a small clinic as a doctor. She becomes immersed in the lively atmosphere of a mountain village where wildlife and plants thrive without restraint. Her grandfather teaches her about the wonders of nature and the structure of the human body. Through this, Nozomi learns about the extraordinary ability of lizards to regenerate their lost limbs using specialized cells. Fascinated, she begins exploring the concept of induced pluripotent stem cells, or iPS cells, and their vast promise for shaping the future of medicine.
