Synopsis

Continues the story of Kagewani

A video blogger fakes encounters with mythical beasts to boost his channel's ratings, but soon faces a real monster that annihilates his crew. Meanwhile, students are attacked by a sandworm-like creature, forcing them into a desperate struggle for survival within their school. As a wave of mysterious assaults escalates, researcher Sousuke Banba sets out to solve the mystery, guided only by the cryptic word "Kagewani." He examines the locations of the latest incidents, seeking a lasting way to eliminate the threats. Yet his investigation runs into trouble when the pharmaceutical company Sarugaku begins blocking his moves, hinting that the peril to humanity may be far nearer than he imagined.

In this installment

After making it out of the Sarugaku headquarters attack alive, Sousuke Banba picks up his search for the Kagewani hybrid monsters once more. With his newfound ability to draw on the Kagewani's power, the researcher now has a way to take down these creatures. But this skill carries a heavy price: Sousuke's grip on his sanity is slipping, and the force threatens to consume his body. Before long, both familiar and new dangers surface. The upper ranks of Sarugaku stir back into action, and an assassin nursing a personal grudge fixes her sights on Sousuke. Even so, he pushes onward without hesitation, resolved to uncover the Kagewani's true origins and put an end to their threat for good.
