Synopsis
In "Parallel World Pharmacy," Kanji Yakutani, a leading medical researcher, lost his younger sister to ineffective treatments years ago. Driven by a desire to prevent similar tragedies, he dedicated himself to developing new medications. Tragically, at 31, he overworks himself to death but is given a second chance in another world. Kanji awakens as Falma de Médicis, a ten-year-old boy from a lineage of renowned healers in the Sain Fleuve Empire. Blessed by a deity, Falma possesses a distinct divine ability that enables him to manipulate substances based on their chemical structure. Upon reviewing several pharmacology books, Falma discovers that this world’s medical practices are reminiscent of those from ancient eras. Additionally, healthcare is a privilege primarily enjoyed by the nobility, neglecting the needs of ordinary people. With his knowledge from his previous life and his divine powers, Falma decides to revolutionize medical care, making it accessible to all, irrespective of their social class.
Background
In collaboration with the Japan Pharmaceutical Association, Isekai Yakkyoku was a part of a campaign to bring awareness to the professions and practices of the pharmaceutical field. The series was released on Blu-ray and DVD in Japan from September 28, 2022 to November 25, 2022.
