Synopsis

In the ancient Greek city where he lives, the vase painter Demetrios is often ridiculed for his hesitation and inability to stay calm under pressure. One day, lightning strikes him, and he is suddenly transported to Tokyo in 1964—the first time Japan hosts the Summer Olympics. At first, the family that takes him in sees him as an odd stranger, but with each subsequent lightning bolt that sends him back to his own era, Demetrios slowly picks up modern knowledge. By traveling repeatedly between these two time periods, he earns the respect of his fellow citizens and develops greater self-confidence. In the end, this builds his determination, allowing him to set up his own Olympic games in his hometown and even compete in them himself.
