High School of the Dead

Synopsis

The sudden reanimation of the dead plunges Japan into widespread chaos. When zombies breach a high school, Takashi Kimuro is compelled to put down his closest friend after the infection turns them into the undead. Vowing to protect Rei Miyamoto, the girlfriend of the person he was forced to kill, the two escape the hazardous school and find themselves in a world already crumbling. Joining forces with other survivors, Takashi and Rei embark on a journey to locate their loved ones and uncover the origin of the zombie outbreak. Their group consists of Saeko Busujima, the elegant captain of the Kendo Club; Kouta Hirano, an otaku with a deep fascination for firearms; Saya Takagi, the daughter of a prominent politician; and Shizuka Marikawa, the attractive school nurse. Despite their combined efforts, they must still wonder if their skills are sufficient to endure the relentless zombie apocalypse.
