Synopsis
A single line drawn in pencil grows and alters its form as it expands, akin to a living organism. This work ventures into uncharted territory within the art of animation. One might assume that beautiful imagery, a compelling narrative, and dynamic motion are the three fundamental components of a quality animated film. However, as is widely known, the term "anima," from which animation is derived, means "to breathe life into." It occurred to me that "life" implies "a finite duration," and that there might be an approach lacking any of the aforementioned "three elements." The outcome of years spent exploring novel techniques was an "animated film" that rejects the conventional "animated" framework. This film seeks to depict "shifting consciousness" through a filming technique where roughly 5,000 pencil drawings are continuously superimposed.
