Synopsis
Continues the story of Mobile Suit Gundam 0083: Stardust Memory - The Mayfly of Space
In the short piece "Mayfly," Cima's backstory is explored through flashbacks as she contemplates her past before the events of Episode 13. It shows that Cima and her unit were ordered to release G-3 nerve gas into a Side 5 colony, but after committing this atrocity, they were shunned and ostracized by their own people. At the war's conclusion, her superior officer denied her permission to retreat to Axis. With their home colony, Mahal, turned into a weapon, Cima and her soldiers were left without a place to go and stranded.

In the Blu-ray release of Mobile Suit Gundam 0083: Stardust Memory, this picture drama is set during the Universal Century 0083 era. Aboard the Zanzibar-class mobile cruiser Lili Marleen, former Zeon M.A.U. (Marine Amphibious Unit) commander Cima Garahau is troubled by a recurring nightmare of being abandoned by the Zeon forces during the One Year War and drifting alone through space for the past four years. The story also explores Cima's past and present dealings with Anavel Gato, and introduces a new character: the Zeon fugitive Geil Hunt.
