Synopsis

Continues the story of Great Pretender

After a string of misfortunes, Makoto Edamura adopts a life of theft and deception, surviving by pickpocketing and tricking others. However, his attempt to scam a seemingly naive tourist backfires when the stranger outsmarts him, forcing Makoto to flee from the police. During his escape, he encounters the tourist again, who reveals himself to be Laurent Thierry, another master swindler. Makoto follows Laurent to Los Angeles and challenges him to a contest to determine who is the superior con artist. Accepting the challenge, Laurent leads them to a grand mansion, identifying their target as the most powerful mafia boss on the West Coast. As Makoto becomes entangled in Laurent's elaborate schemes, working alongside his charismatic crew within a complex web of global high-stakes fraud, he realizes that his reputation as "Japan's Greatest Swindler" may soon be tested to its very limits.

A sequel to GREAT PRETENDER. Presumed dead, the master con artist and amnesiac Dorothy is found by Shanghai Longu-bang, a mob seeking revenge for her previous swindle. Stripped of her memories and with nowhere to turn, she must depend on a local crime underboss to evade Taipei's criminal underworld while hunting for clues about her enigmatic past.
