In "Haruka: Beyond the Stream of Time – A Tale of the Eight Guardians," Akane Motomiya, along with her friends Tenma and Shimon, is dragged into another world by a demon and fated to become the Dragon God Priestess. The inhabitants explain that Akane is the only one who can stop the demonic forces from taking over their world, while the demons aim to use her powers. Fortunately, Akane is protected by the Hachiyou, eight guardians each with their own unique abilities, who are sworn to defend the Dragon Priestess.
