Using cutting-edge animation, End of Summer explores a young man's relationships with five women in a direct and sensual way rarely seen even in the most daring live-action films. The protagonist, Wataru, only wants to get together with Mai, the girl he dreams about, but he first has to navigate four other young women who are strewn across his path like obstacles. There's the infatuated and childish Miho, the tomboyish athlete Misa, the naive Kurumi, and the caustic Satomi, who works at the restaurant where Wataru hangs out and whose personal life becomes inextricably linked with his. The inevitable affair between Satomi and Wataru establishes a new benchmark in the portrayal of animated erotica and could permanently alter how animation is perceived in North America.
