The story unfolds in Qingyang, exploring the power dynamics among the northern nomadic tribes and the tensions between Qingyang and the East Land. When the young Qingyang crown prince Lü Guichen was a child, the Great Lord sent him to reside with the Yanzhen Tribe. After a tribal rebellion, Lü Guichen returned to Beidu city, where his older brothers, consumed by their struggle for the throne, dismissed him as weak and insignificant. Despite these challenges, Lü Guichen's gentle nature matured through the trials of warfare and life's hardships, gradually building his strength amid the familial conflicts. Meanwhile, the royal lineage of the East Land faced decline, giving rise to multiple feudal states. In pursuit of dominance over the East, the Great Lord of Qingyang formed an alliance with the Xia Tang State. As a result, Lü Guichen was sent as a hostage to Xia Tang, where he encountered the fierce Tianqu warrior Jiye. Impressed by Jiye's indomitable spirit, Lü Guichen forged a deep friendship with him.
