Synopsis

Continues the story of Rent-a-Girlfriend Season 3

Motivated by the encouragement of her late grandfather, Chizuru Mizuhara teams up with her friend Kazuya Kinoshita to start a crowdfunding campaign for an independent film, hoping to fulfill her grandparents' dream before she loses her grandmother. Caught in the turmoil caused by encounters with Kazuya's persistent "trial" girlfriend, Ruka Sarashina; their interfering new neighbor, Mini Yaemori; and Chizuru's reserved coworker, Sumi Sakurasawa, the group comes together to hit their funding target and begin shooting. As the film moves forward, Chizuru and Kazuya draw closer and deal with their shifting emotions toward one another.

In Rent-a-Girlfriend Season 4, Kazuya Kinoshita continues living a life built on lies after the success of his crowdfunded movie starring Chizuru Ichinose, the girl he secretly longs for. Though he has been pretending to be in a perfect relationship with Chizuru for over a year, Kazuya still relies mostly on a rental girlfriend service to spend time with her. At a private event with Chizuru, Kazuya decides to finally confess his real feelings. However, his current trial girlfriend, Ruka Sarashina, and his ex-girlfriend, Mami Nanami, keep interfering with his complicated romantic situation. As he keeps up his act, Kazuya feels growing pressure to untangle the mess of his love life.
