Synopsis
In "Shinsen-gumi," the Phoenix reflects on why humanity so often turns to war for conflict resolution. The story explores Kyoto's history, centering on the Ikeda-ya incident and the Shinsengumi during the final years of the Tokugawa shogunate. This short film also appears in the 2015 DVD collection Osamu Tezuka Sakuhin-shuu: Kyoto Animation Theater-hen.
