Continues the story of Encouragement of Climb Season 3
After an unforgettable summer break, Aoi Yukimura stays dedicated to her newfound passion for mountain climbing. Having overcome her fear of heights and kept the childhood promise she made to Hinata Kuraue, she eagerly pursues every chance to climb, including another opportunity to ascend Mt. Fuji. Though the next expedition is scheduled for the following summer, Aoi throws herself into rigorous training to ensure she succeeds this time. As the seasons change and their anticipation builds, the challenges of taking on new obstacles begin to strain the friendship between these longtime companions, exposing different views on where their futures lie.

In "Encouragement of Climb: Next Summit," Aoi Yukimura rekindles her enthusiasm for mountain climbing with fresh determination. After Koharu Senjuin invites her to join the school's Mountaineering Club, Aoi considers the offer. Koharu, the club's energetic leader, emphasizes their focus on achieving success in climbing competitions. Though Aoi respects the club's dedication, she initially hesitates to become a member, preferring to maintain her own pace and savor the sport on her terms. Yet, her brief experience with the group leads her to reflect on what truly drives her love for climbing. With encouragement from her friends, Aoi explores the deeper reasons behind her passion for this hobby while preparing for the eagerly awaited second ascent of Mt. Fuji.
Background
Yama no Susume: Next Summit was released on Blu-ray and DVD in three volumes from January 25, 2023 to March 24, 2023. A special autumn festival event was held in Hanno City on October 2, 2022, featuring script reading, show discussions, and a preview screening of episode five. A video game based on the series is planned to be released on PlayStation 4 and the Nintendo Switch.
