Synopsis
Second part of OBSOLETE. The year is 2021. Despite the constraints set by the Sankt Gallen Arrangement, a treaty led by the United States and other developed nations, the EXOFRAME—a consciousness-controlled multipurpose humanoid robot supplied by the alien known as the "Peddler"—has proliferated across the globe. Bowman and his team, who have been collecting intelligence on EXOFRAME from multiple regions, discover that someone is planning to escalate the use of EXOFRAME on the battlefield. All clues point to Raila Reshep, the President of the fledgling African nation, the Republic of Azania. He operates as the de facto head of the new African Union while also being the concealed architect of the mysterious special operations unit called the Outcast Brigade, which advanced technological independence for developing countries by broadening the use of EXOFRAME—a machine available to nearly anyone worldwide at almost no cost. Yet the report submitted by Bowman and his unit is suppressed by their superiors. Undeterred, Bowman and his team press ahead with Gavial, a covert Marine Corps EXOFRAME development initiative at Area 51, in preparation for a confrontation with Azania.
