Spirits in Chinese Brushes
Qi Hou Bilu
七侯笔录
Synopsis
When the Epang Palace burned down two thousand years ago, the ancestors of the School of Naturalists mourned that Qin Shihuang had humiliated Confucian scholars and ordered books burned, lamenting, "If you don't teach the world, all talent will go to waste." After the literati died, they began to gather their souls into brushes. To ensure these skills could be passed down to future generations, they perfected the Chinese brush. Two thousand years later, an ordinary college student named Luo Zhongxia accidentally obtained Li Bai's Qinglian posthumous Chinese brush, and from then on, he wielded the superpowers granted by the brush spirit. However, the good times did not last, as other forces were drawn to the powerful influence of Qinglian's works, repeatedly putting Luo Zhongxia in danger. He devoted himself to finding a way to retract his essay in order to avoid conflicts, but kept encountering obstacles. Instead, he formed a deep bond with the "Seven Lords in charge of the city."
