Continues the story of Dog Days

In the world of Flonyard—an alternate Earth where humanoid beings carry the ears and tails of various animals—the dog-eared citizens of the Republic of Biscotti find themselves besieged by the cat-like forces of the Galette Leo Knights. Desperate to protect her people, Princess Millhiore calls upon a champion from beyond her world. That champion is Cinque Izumi, an ordinary junior high schooler from Earth. Accepting the call, Cinque takes up the sacred weapon known as the Palladion and readies himself for battle. In Flonyard, however, warfare is a bloodless affair—conflicts are conducted more like sporting events, with the competing kingdoms vying for prize money rather than lives. Cinque proves his worth as Biscotti's champion, yet he soon learns a sobering truth: a summoned hero cannot simply be sent back home. While Biscotti's scientists work to find a means of returning Cinque to his own world, he must remain in Flonyard and continue to serve Princess Millhiore, fighting on as Biscotti's hero.

In this installment

In "Dog Days'," Cinque returns to Flonyard and takes up his role as the Biscotti Republic's hero as if no time has passed. Joining him are two new heroes: his childhood friend Rebecca Anderson, recruited by Princess Couvert Eschenbach Pastillage to serve as the hero of the Pastillage Principality, and his cousin Nanami Takatsuki, who becomes the hero for the Galette Lion Dominion. As before, with many secrets to uncover and mysteries to solve, can the sports competitions these three energetic teens cherish still find room to exist?
