Synopsis
Late one dark night in New York City, Ryu is pursued and ambushed by assassins. After eliminating them, he finds an ID card belonging to the Friedman Company. The following day, news breaks that Dr. Ned Friedman has found a cure for cancer. However, his press conference reveals nothing, prompting reporter Sarah to start digging into the matter with her friends Robert and Jeff. While passing by Dr. Friedman's residence, Ryu hears a young girl crying for help. Sarah and her group also investigate the house and happen to cross paths with their colleague Ryu. Inside, they find that Dr. Friedman has been performing biotechnological experiments on living human subjects, possibly connected to the power of the Evil Gods that Ryu once defeated. When Ryu's friend Irene is abducted, he must once again embrace his role as the Dragon Ninja to take down this new threat and rescue her.

The Ninja Ryuukenden anime is a sequel to the first entry of the Ninja Ryuukenden series of video games.
