Synopsis
Set in the 1960s, this narrative follows Kuroo Hazama, a brilliant medical student determined to forge his own path. He is instantly recognizable with his contrasting black-and-white hair, numerous scars, and a mysterious background marked by hardship. Though still a student, Hazama’s extraordinary surgical skill is revealed after he performs an operation previously deemed unfeasible. Together with the honest and straightforward intern Maiko Okamoto and his friend Yabu, who struggles with his own troubles, Hazama follows his passion for medicine. Yet his path to becoming a celebrated surgeon is hindered by the era’s upheavals: student protests, conflicts, and widespread corruption throughout Japan. As Hazama becomes entangled in various dark situations, his moral convictions and his ambition to succeed as a surgeon are continually challenged. "Young Black Jack" tells the tale of a man whose exceptional medical abilities shape his evolution into the legendary figure known as Black Jack.
