Synopsis
Satoukibibatake is an educational film centering on the Sugarcane Field song, created by Naohiko Terashima to honor the soldiers who died in the Battle of Okinawa. The story follows a young girl who does not know that her father was killed in combat and sets out through the sugarcane fields looking for him. Her search raises questions about the nature of war and the worth of the sacrifices that were made.
