Synopsis

Set in Nagasaki, "Madame Butterfly's Illusion" tells the story of Butterfly, a devoted Japanese wife who waits for her American husband Pinkerton to return. When she spots the Stars and Stripes on an approaching ship, she thinks he has come back. But Pinkerton arrives accompanied by his actual white wife, plunging Butterfly into deep grief and driving her to take her own life.
