

Synopsis
Henteko na Volunteer (Weird Volunteers) is an educational film produced and funded by Kitakyushu City's Board of Education and Council for the Promotion of Outcast Issue Awareness. The narrative centers on two second-year junior high school girls who find an elderly woman collapsed outside her home in the rural Japanese countryside. After helping her inside, the two learn the old woman's tragic life story and realize she cannot read or write. Horrified by this revelation, the girls decide to dedicate their time each day to volunteering and teaching the elderly woman literacy.
