Synopsis

This is the Animation Store Manager!! Anime Tenchou is a promotional character for Animate, one of Japan's largest retailers of anime, games, and manga. The character series was conceived by Shimamoto Kazuhiko for advertising purposes. It later expanded into a manga, a weekly radio drama, and this OVA produced by GAINAX and helmed by Anno Hideaki. Anizawa Meito is the fiery store manager. A passionate fireball at heart, he loves anime merchandise. Taking over the final wish of the former store manager—who, though still alive, was attacked by a rival store—he becomes the "store manager" of a newly opened anime goods specialty shop, Animate. His signature is the scarlet "store manager visor."
