

Synopsis
The perpetual cycle of construction and destruction driven by human consumption is depicted. This work was showcased in a rebuilt zone affected by the Kobe disaster. TOCHKA's 2001 animated film BUILD aimed to connect with audiences across all generations. Inspired by Kobe's rapid reconstruction following the earthquake within just five years, as well as concerns regarding a consumption-obsessed society, BUILD encapsulates these themes.
Background
The BUILD was originally made as a video installation work shown in an event Foreign Settlement Distinct Movie Theater in Kobe. 2001. The original version requires three video projectors to project 15 meters high image on a wall outside where you feel images falling down on your head.
