Synopsis
One morning, two brothers leave the hut they share with their mother to go into the mountains and set deer traps. They creep through the forest undergrowth without a sound until suddenly a demonic arm reaches down from the treetops and seizes the younger brother. The older brother steadies his trembling hands, takes careful aim, and fires an arrow, saving his brother. The severed demon arm is left behind, and strangely, it looks familiar. After they return home, a horrifying truth comes to light. Based on an early medieval Japanese legend, the film echoes the horror psychodrama Kwaidan. The Demon (1972) won awards at numerous animation festivals.
