Mr. Dough and the Egg Princess

Synopsis

This short film is shown at the Ghibli Museum in Mitaka and Ghibli Park in Nagakute. Its events unfold to the music of Joe Hisaishi's arrangement of Antonio Vivaldi's La Folia. Deep in a forest of briers and brambles stands a lonely water mill, where a witch named Baba Yaga lives. She keeps her servant, the Egg Princess, locked up and forces the tiny egg girl to perform all the hard daily chores around the mill. One night, a large ball of kneaded dough resting in a trough suddenly springs to life because of the witch's magic. Frightened of Baba Yaga, the Egg Princess and her new friend decide to escape. What lies ahead for the two of them...?
