Synopsis
Karasu Bank is the third most profitable major financial institution in Japan. Akira Mitarai, a second-year employee at the main branch, possesses an extraordinary ability to detect accounting errors in an instant, making his routine work feel dull. Suddenly, Akira is transferred to the bank's Special Operations Department, specifically its "Appraisal Unit," which is described as a vital component of the organization. Suspicious of both the transfer and the unfamiliar department, he learns under his new supervisor that the bank secretly runs a vast underground casino. The Appraisal Unit oversees this gambling operation and the high-stakes players involved, where wagers can include their own lives. The greater the risk, the bigger the payout, but at the highest level, failure means death. As Mitarai struggles with the surreal reality of the bank's hidden casino, he encounters Shin Mafutsu, a mysterious and highly skilled gambler renowned for exposing cheaters and always emerging victorious. Captivated by Shin's abilities, Akira decides to enter this perilous world of life-or-death gambling as Shin's bank liaison.
