Synopsis

Over the six months since the fatal incident during his bout with Rikiishi, Joe feels he has accepted his friend's death and is prepared to restart his boxing career. He stages an impressive comeback, winning five consecutive fights using body shots. To slow Joe's momentum, the boxing commission schedules a national title match against the reigning champion, Tiger Ozaki. Ozaki exploits Joe's lingering trauma, forcing Joe's corner to throw in the towel out of worry. Plagued by Rikiishi's memory, Joe cannot throw strong punches to the head. Youko, Joe's love interest and owner of the gym where Rikiishi trained, enlists the help of Carlos Rivera, a top-ranked Venezuelan boxer, to help Joe conquer his fears and steer his career toward international success.
