Kurayami Santa

Synopsis
In the greed-driven atmosphere of Japan's Shouwa period, the King of Hell, Enma Daiou, summons a young boy named Kurayami Santa to his office. He tells Santa that the rampant greed and selfishness among humans are about to cause a massive surge of souls into Hell, which could overwhelm the underworld. Given a single mission—without any specific directions or constraints—Santa is told to handle this crisis however he sees fit. When he reappears in the human world during a fierce storm hitting a local cemetery, Santa begins to see the corruption Enma described firsthand. Resolved to keep the balance between good and evil, Santa sets out from Hell on his quest, aiming to restore order to the human realm without upsetting the equilibrium of light and darkness.
Background
Fourteen episodes were originally planned. Episode 2 was cancelled and its storyboard recording was included with the DVD release.
