Synopsis

In "Sasaki and Peeps," Sasaki, a 39-year-old office worker living a quiet and uneventful life, has his routine disrupted when he rescues a Java sparrow named Pii-chan. Unbeknownst to him, this bird is the reincarnation of a renowned wizard from another dimension, capable of speech and willing to impart its magical skills along with interdimensional travel to Sasaki. Leveraging these newfound abilities, Sasaki starts a lucrative sideline trading contemporary items from his world to a technologically inferior society in the alternate realm. However, his tranquil existence quickly becomes fraught with danger when he intervenes to prevent an assassination attempt, saving Hoshizaki, a government operative tasked with identifying individuals with extraordinary talents. Dragged into her covert organization, Sasaki is compelled to undertake perilous assignments aimed at capturing other superpowered lawbreakers. Even his refuge in the alternate world is imperiled by the looming threat of war. To maintain peace across both worlds, Sasaki must rise to the challenge and assume the role of an unexpected hero.
