Synopsis

A Chinese laborer under indenture, taken to Japan to toil in a coal mine during World War II, succeeds in fleeing his captors. He conceals himself in the rural Japanese landscape, so isolated from any settlement that he remains unaware when the war concludes, leading to a tragic outcome. This work is based on a tale by Yoichi Takashi.
