

Synopsis
The film's protagonist, Mai, has an older brother named Dai-Chan who is completely deaf. Although Dai-Chan is older, he behaves like Mai's younger sibling, always asking her to pick him up with a big smile on his face. One day, the elementary school Mai attends and the special-needs school Dai-Chan goes to begin interacting with each other. Then Mai's classmates start teasing her and draw a caricature of Dai-Chan on the classroom blackboard. Mai is shocked and deeply hurt by their prank. Around the same time, their mother falls ill, and as a result Dai-Chan is to be placed in an orphanage for disabled children. However, Mai desperately wants to care for him herself and tries to stop it. This story is about family love, strong bonds, and the connections between people. We all possess a shared warmth in our hearts, and there are moments when we must use it sincerely. This film reminds us of important things about life that we should never forget.
