Synopsis
Maesetsu! Opening Act centers on Manzai, a classic Japanese comedy style that pairs a straight man with a comic foil. The story follows two dedicated young women, Mafuyu Kogarashi and Fubuki Kitakaze, who are committed manzai performers but have not attained enduring success despite years on stage. They frequently collaborate with their close friends and fellow manzai aspirants, Rin Araya and Nayuta Asougi, helping one another as opening acts. Chasing the fame they desire, the quartet pushes themselves by switching venues, swapping roles, entering contests, and constantly working to improve their skills and accumulate more experience. Yet before they can truly start their path to stardom, these hopeful artists must first become polished performers capable of signing on as amateurs and taking their dreams seriously.
