Synopsis
The title Yamakagashi refers to a poisonous snake. This work investigates the interactions between military personnel and sex workers near the Naval Air Facility Atsugi in Kanagawa Prefecture, as seen through a child’s perspective. During this period, Aihara’s output often uses a documentary-like method to examine Japanese society during his coming-of-age years.
