Synopsis
Shittakaburi Kaituburi is an anime created to promote Shiga Prefecture, especially Lake Biwa. At the heart of this campaign is Prince Nio, the mascot of the Lake Biwa Otsu Prince Hotel. The term "Prince" derives from the hotel itself, while "Nio" comes from the harbor district where the hotel is located. Prince Nio has featured in various local projects, including news segments, real estate commercials, and support for local school athletic events, with the rights managed by Biwako Broadcasting and Fujigumi. Furthermore, a series of family-friendly sing-along CDs and animated music video DVDs have been produced as part of these promotional efforts.
