Amid the chaos of the An Lushan Rebellion during the Tang Dynasty, monsters plague the Central Plains, leaving its people destitute. Li Haobai departs from Bashu, determined to reach the front lines and achieve glory. En route, he is swallowed by a monster, but through a stroke of fate, he merges with the guardian of the dragon's veins, acquiring the power of the black dragon. From that moment on, Li Haobai finds himself entangled in the conflicts between various forces.
