Continues the story of Crayon Shin-chan Gaiden: Alien vs. Shinnosuke
Unlike the main TV anime series set in contemporary Japan, this new series is a 'sealed room' suspense comedy taking place a century into the future. The story begins when Shinnosuke and the entire Nohara family awaken from cryogenic sleep and find themselves on a spaceship drifting through space. The series centers on the various incidents that occur within the confined environment of the spacecraft.

This anime adaptation comes from the "Figure Wars" storyline in the 41st volume of the original manga. The plot starts with Oban, a character from a tokusatsu TV series, becoming a popular toy that quickly goes out of style. Numerous unsold Oban figures are thrown away. After a lightning bolt hits one of these abandoned toys, it comes to life. Other discarded toys then join Oban, who swears revenge on humans and begins an attack. At the same time, Chūkōnen Kamen, Oban's longtime enemy, is also revived. Usually depicted as an overweight, middle-aged, and melancholic individual, Chūkōnen Kamen gains power by eating cup noodles. Together with Shinnosuke, they work to restore peace to the world.
