Shi Miao has become skilled at handling the peculiar habits of her older brother, Shi Fen. Even though she often scolds him, their strong connection suggests that some of these odd traits might be impossible to change—and perhaps that's for the best. Underneath his impulsive behavior, Fen generally has good intentions, which has helped create a close circle of friends around the pair. Along with their classmates Kai Xin, Wan Sui, and Miaomiao, the Shi siblings go through a high school life that is always chaotic but highly entertaining.

In "Take My Brother Away 5," the Shi siblings navigate various challenges as they strive for thrifty living and academic achievement while constantly arguing. Fen, the elder brother, often irritates his younger sister Miao with his casual attitude, sparking playful yet lively fights. Fortunately, their tight circle of friends consistently lends a hand. Fen's considerate best friend, Kai Xin, shares Fen's scatterbrained tendencies but compensates with his athletic ability. Meanwhile, Miao is often joined by her cheerful friend Miaomiao. The group gains a new member in Wan Sui, who hides his wealthy background while remaining fiercely loyal to his friends; he typically brings his little brother Xing along on their adventures. Even though their unconventional methods of solving problems occasionally cause trouble, nothing can spoil their enjoyment of high school life.
