Synopsis
Myth recounts the tale of the supremely powerful Monkey King, invincible in battle and able to travel freely across the realms of Heaven, Earth, and Hell. After violating several of the most severe decrees issued by the Gods, he is trapped inside an icy prison beneath a mountain, restrained by the sole forces that can contain him. In the absence of the great Monkey King, evil spreads over China. A young boy, escaping from the monsters that have assaulted his village, takes refuge in the mountains and stumbles upon a strange frozen pillar wrapped in chains. Upon touching the ice, he shatters the spell, setting in motion the story of the film Monkey King: Hero is Back.
