Synopsis
Set during a pivotal era of an impending AI revolution, Towasa Oumagi emerges as a celebrated prodigy. Her adopted brother, Akira Himegami, understands the essence within her programming and stands by her side despite the adversity she faces as a trailblazer in artificial intelligence. During a crucial shareholders meeting aimed at unveiling a groundbreaking discovery that could redefine humanity, a violent incident occurs. A gunman attacks, killing both Towasa and Akira due to opposition against their innovative vision. Akira revives with the last memory being the assault, only to find that time has leaped forward by centuries. Awakening in a dilapidated laboratory within a ruined city, he has no clue about Towasa's fate or the condition of the world. A family consisting of a father and daughter finds him and takes him to their humble abode, revealing a society that has regressed. His newfound peace is disrupted when he is captured by OWEL, a worldwide organization that now controls the globe and limits access to historical knowledge. As execution looms, a figure with extraordinary, superhuman abilities arrives and decimates his captors. The rescuer, introducing herself as Yuugure—an android—requests that Akira marry her. Adding to the surreal situation, Yuugure bears an identical appearance to Towasa.
Background
Towa no Yuugure aired on MBS and TBS' Super Animeism Turbo block. The series was released on Blu-ray in three volumes from February 4, 2026, to April 8, 2026.
