In 1982, a 26-episode television sequel to Youkai Ningen Bem was in development. When the original production team disbanded, Topcraft assumed responsibility for the animation. However, only two episodes were completed before the project was called off, and it never aired on television. Roughly a decade later, these unfinished episodes were released as part of a LaserDisc box set. A limited edition of two thousand copies was produced and sold out quickly.
