Synopsis

Yobi, The Five Tailed Fox centers on a kumiho—a nine-tailed fox from Korean folklore that can transform into various shapes, including human form. In traditional tales, kumiho are often portrayed as magical beings who take on female appearances to charm and devour humans. But this story's protagonist is a gentle, good-hearted fox who possesses only five tails rather than nine. Having lost her family to fox hunters, five-tailed Yobi dwells deep in the forest alongside a group of shipwrecked aliens, keeping far away from human society. When one of her alien companions is seized by a villager, Yobi is left with no choice but to venture into the human world to save him. In the village, she encounters many people, among them Geum Yee, a student at a school for troubled children. Drawn to Geum Yee, Yobi joins the students and delights in the joys of human life—but a fox hunter and a mysterious shadow man are both closing in on her.
