Saho Jobe, a career woman working at a hotel, is visited by Tokawa, the family's legal counsel, who asks her to help take care of a child for three months. The child, who she thought was a doll at first, is a girl named Hiwako, a member of the Jobe clan, who for some reason wears a fox mask and doesn't talk at all. Saho, who had been only devoted to her work, begins to change as she spends her days with Hiwako.
