In 13th century Europe, the country of Lublin is plunged into darkness following the invasion of its neighbour, the Grand Duchy of Russo. Stephan, one of the children of the king of Lublin, is the only survivor. He is taken in by his uncle and falls in love with the latter's daughter. But in trying to kiss her, he awakens something dark that has been dormant in him since the attack on his country.
