Personality As the chief advisor to the Fire Daimyou, Kobu is a trustworthy, intelligent, and efficient man. During the meeting with Konoha, he proved to be a no-nonsense individual focused on completing his task quickly. However, he can also be unreasonable and demanding, prioritizing Konoha's political obligations over the immediate threat of the Human God Tree. He even demanded Shikamaru's presence, threatening to treat refusal as defiance against the Land of Fire and its daimyou, despite Shikamaru's need to protect the village's citizens. Only when faced with imminent death by Mamushi did Kobu reluctantly back down, intending to continue the interrogation once the danger passed. Appearance Kobu is a tall, middle-aged man with a round face and pronounced cheekbones. He has short dark hair with bangs swept left and white streaks at the temples and front. He wears light pants with dark, high-collared robes and a belt displaying the Land of Fire emblem. Abilities As the daimyou's advisor, Kobu is skilled in interrogation and quickly saw through Konohamaru Sarutobi's attempts to deceive him. However, as a noncombatant, he lacks the agility of a shinobi, shown when Inojin Yamanaka had difficulty evading Mamushi’s attacks while possessing Kobu's body.
