Pastel Mary, also known by her real name You Tanada, is one of the main protagonists of Magical Girl Raising Project breakdown. A freelancer and former-selection examiner for magical girls, she now works for John Shepherdspie as a housemaid. As a human, You is a young woman in her twenties. She was said to be wearing a white dress shirt with the cuffs torn, and bottoms that left her ankles showing. She has wavy brown hair that is tied up in the back, normally being semi-long that curls inwards at the ends. Her fingers are described as long with having evenly-cut nails, and a callus being on her index finger. As a magical girl, Mary is a shy and kind person and acts in a friendly and polite way with both her partners and her employer. She often makes sheep-like sounds when she feels scared, which tends to make her feel ashamed at times. She's extremely clumsy, and often ends up tripping over her own feet. She can summon sheep from pastel drawings to help her. There is no limit to how many sheep she can summon, however, despite being a product of her magic, Pastel Mary’s sheep often become too much for her to handle and she becomes unable to control them.
